Transportation to and from the IARP RISE meeting premises

By bus

Transportation between Almada Business Hotel and the Portuguese Naval Academy will be provided. A bus will leave the Almada Business Hotel at 8:45, and go back to the hotel after the meetings. The journey between the hotel and the Academy usually takes 10-15 minutes. If you have your own mean of transport the bus will leave the principal gate of the Naval Base at 8:50.

By personal car

We highly recommend that all participants travel to the meeting by bus. However, should you need to reach the Academy by personal car please fill the information requested in Attachment A – Participant ID. To reach the Naval Academy (Escola Naval), please follow the instruction in Attachment B.

Travelling to Almada

The closest airport is Portela International Airport, in Lisbon, 15 kilometers away from Almada. For more information, please check http://www.lisbon-airport.com/transportation.html.

How to get to the Almada Business Hotel from Lisbon Airport

By taxi

Taxis are right outside the Arrivals terminal. The taxi ride from the airport to Almada takes approximately 25 minutes, and costs 25/30 Euros. Tipping is not included and is discretional.

By public means of transport: Aerobus, ferry boat, metro

From the airport to Almada, you can take the Aerobus, which goes to Cais do Sodré every day and runs every 20 minutes, from 07.45 to 20.15. The trip takes almost 50 minutes and enables you to reach the Transtejo River Terminal, where you can take the boat to Cacilhas. From Cacilhas connect with the tram line (metro, or MST) that goes do Universidade or take a taxi to Almada Business Hotel. The hotel’s nearest tram station is Ramalha. By public means of transport: metro, ferry boat , metro

You can take the metro (underground) at the Airport, and go to Cais do Sodré (you will have to change in some stations).  At Cais do Sodré you can take the boat to Cacilhas. From Cacilhas connect with the tram line (metro, or MST) that goes do Universidade or take a taxi to Almada Business Hotel. The hotel’s nearest tram station is Ramalha. By car

Lisbon International Airport has a Rent-a-Car, in the arrivals hall. For more information please check: http://www.lisbon-airport.com/car-hire.html.

From Lisbon heading to Almada, you should take the Eixo Norte-Sul and then exit to the Ponte 25 de Abril (A2 Sul). After crossing the bridge, take the Almada/Cristo Rei exit, go straight ahead to Largo Primeiro de Maio roundabout and take the 3rd exit to Bento Gonçalves Avenue. Take the second turning on the right to Luísa Sigeia Street and then the 1st turning on the left to Ramiro Ferrão Street. On the roundabout take the second exit to Cidade de Ostrava Street and go straight ahead in the next roundabout. Take the first turning on the left to António de Sousa Pinto Street and go until the end of the road. Turn right to Abel Salazar Street and the hotel is on your right.

From South heading to Almada follow the A2 motorway towards Lisbon and take the Almada/Cristo Rei exit, before reaching the Ponte 25 de Abril. You will get to Largo Primeiro de Maio roundabout.

Note that you will have to pay the toll as you exit the some motorways. Major credit cards are accepted, however cash is preferable.
